- Promoting the well being of each individual
- Accessible to all, whether working, training, disabled, caring, unemployed or retired
The service
Occupational health advisers work in GP surgeries.
Occupational health advisers take referrals from GP and other professionals, which account for 80% of the total referrals made in any one year.
This allows workplace ill health problems to be identified and advice given on how to rectify them.
SOHAS gathers data on the patient’s seen by advisers. Evaluating this data and identifying emerging pasterns allows advisers to promote methods for those at risk to avoid problems.
Funding
SOHAS receives funding from the Sheffield PCT to run the Workplace Health Programme. We also receive funding from Department of Health Section 64 and Objective 1 for our other work which can be found in the other work section of our website.
